Make Learning Fun and Geeky with the Star Wars Board Books

I am always on the hunt for fun and geeky ways to help Miss ZZ learn. Finding these Star Wars board books (along with the sets of Star Wars workbooks) made me so happy. Last week I ordered the last one (colors) to go along with a cute sock color sorting game from Lakeshore that I found at Kid to Kid.

I love the size of these books. They are a lot bigger than most of the board books you see – 9″x9″. While this does make it a little more difficult for travel, it is helpful to see larger pictures of some favorites and make it easier to point out specific letters and numbers to Miss ZZ. These books also introduced me to a lot of characters I didn’t know or had forgotten about. They are sturdy and will take the abuse that little ones run them through. See how gorgeous and detailed they are:

I do wish there was a little more yellow on this page

These books really are valuable learning tools. We use them as part of our bedtime reading routine on many occasions. Miss ZZ loves pointing at the letters and naming them off when we ask her what they are. She can also name all of the colors in that book now, as well as numbers 1-10.  It doesn’t hurt that she is learning about the Star Wars universe to boot. For example, she now calls Ewoks “Wok” instead of “teddy bear”. Not too shabby for a young padawan! You can get them on Amazon for $9-11 each.

Do you have the Star Wars board books? Has it helped your child learn the basics?
